The Pleasant Mountain Race Team is the operating arm of the Shawnee Peak Alpine Educational Foundation Inc., 501(c)(3) nonprofit alpine education program that provides training and racing opportunities with professional coaches for alpine skiers of all levels from ages 6-20. (Note we run separately from both Pleasant Mt. Ski Area and the Pleasant Mt. Race Dept.)

We offer quality alpine ski race/train opportunities in a traditional family mountain setting. As a USSA-affiliated program, we provide competition opportunities and training at both the middle school and high school level as well as MARA/USSA age-appropriate events. For skiers who qualify, PMRT also supports athletes at the FIS (International Ski Federation) level. Our 40-day training calendar operates from the weekend after Thanksgiving through mid-late March, even into April if conditions allow. Our goal is to bring a rigorous but balanced approach to alpine ski racing in a manner that fosters love of sport and skill development first.

We invite you to bring high energy and personal dedication and we will provide the guidance! Develop your alpine racing future with PMRT!

2025-26 Season Race Team - Winter 2026

PMRT is a competitive ski program, while also priding itself on raising good people as both athletes and racers. We are a community and look forward to continuing to build and nurture that with several family events pre season and during the season to continue to foster relationships amongst our athletes and families. Our strong coaches include a roster of returning and new coaches, many of whom have years of experience as an alpine racer or coaching through other competitive programs.

Registration for returning athletes and siblings opens July 16. Registration for new athletes opens August 6, 2025.

We look forward to a great season!

Dryland Training 2025 - Fall 2025

Dryland will be 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm on Saturday, November 8, with a rain date of November 9.  Please arrive at the Pleasant Mountain Lodge (Great room) at 12:00.  After brief introductions, athletes will go out with their coaches for some exercise and getting to know you games.  Please make sure athletes are dressed for the weather!

We will re-group around 3:00 for some general pre-season guidance from the coaches, after which we will enjoy some food and beverages provided by the folks at Blizzard’s. Kids can hang in the great room and play games or upstairs (parental decisions begin!).

Additionally, while athletes are out with coaches, we will have our yearly informal gear sale/swap.  This is a great opportunity to sell gear that your athlete has outgrown, or buy used gear that you need for the season.

Look forward to seeing you all on November 8!
